Final Review
Wes, yes, the pay increases as you go. The Class-A minimum pay is just over $1000 per month, Double-A minimum is around $1500 a month, and the Triple-A minimum is around $2000 a month. So, as you work your way up, you get paid more. Also, the players get rewarded and paid more after being with the team for multiple years.
The players who get drafted and don’t sign go back to their normal lives....

The discussions surrounding minor league baseball;...
Minor league baseball is the levels of baseball under the MLB. The teams are linked to a professional team in hopes to continue to build and find better players. There are thousands of minor league ballplayers, with every MLB team typically having at least three minor league teams. I find this unique because other sports and leagues such as the NFL and NBA don’t have “minor league” teams.

Summer Job
I have been trying really hard to find a summer job. I dont want to do the same thing I have been doing the last few years…LANDSCAPING. It is an okay job and pays well, but I think it is time to move on and get into the business field, where I plan to graduate.
I have already had a couple interviews in the cities and have another one next monday. The job field is small and I really hope...
There's nothing like crunch time
Two outs, bottom of the 9th, game 7 of the world series. CRUNCH TIME.
Not exactly what I’m talking about right now though. I’m talking about a 7 page paper along with a lot of homework due in the next few weeks. On top of that, our baseball schedule is as hectic as ever. Two games wednesday, 4 games this weekend, 2 games next wednesday, and a day of travel for each of those games.

Get Away
I’m not going to lie, my life has been baseball. Practice every day, games every week. Not to mention the start of the MLB season today.
This week I encourage everyone to get away from what they are used to. I went to a johnny holm concert saturday night and let everything go. Didn’t worry about baseball, school, or anything. Just lived in the moment and soaked it in. I plan to do...
Fantasy Baseball
The MLB opens their regular season in a couple days. This is very exciting news to me.
Tonight is my fantasy baseball draft and I’m excited for it. Fantasy Baseball isn’t all about the game and your favorite players, its about the trash talk with your friends. This fall, I was very successful in fantasy football and I hope the success continues this spring.
I’m hoping for a...

Florida Trip
Our spring break baseball trip to Florida was awesome! The weather was nice, low 80s every day. We played a lot of games in a week, finishing 10-1. And, after a long day at the ballpark, we sat by the pool and relaxed. But I don’t want to blah you with details; read the athletic website for that.
It was very interesting to spend 10 days with guys that I haven’t spent that much time...
Gopher Baseball
Continuing the baseball theme is tough right now. It is a blizzard out and we don’t have class! Crazy.. anyway, i spent some time in the cities last weekend and witnessed my first Golden Gopher baseball game. It was a good time with friends and we have a close friend who is on the team.
They won 7-1 with a dominating pitching performance. Don’t know the starter but he pitched very...
My Summer Team
Summer baseball has always been a passion of mine. In high school, we played VFW ball, then Legion. Now, its ametuer or “town team” ball. It’s a lot of fun playing with guys of all ages. Some are really old, some are pretty young. It is also great to play with wooden bats and hear that “CRACK.”
My summer team is the Hutchinson Huskies. Our first game this year is...

Twins Make a Move
Do you remember how last year went for the Minnesota Twins? Well, we were projected to finish 4th or even 5th in the division (below the Royals). I knew all along we would finish better than that and sure enough we did. We finished in a tie for the division title and went on to lose the one game playoff due to a coinflip that decided who got to be the home team in that playoff.
Anyways,...
Who Wasn't on the 'Juice'?
In 2003, I took a steroid shot for my aching ribs. This is a little different than Major League Baseball’s largest figure, Alex Rodriguez, taking steroid shots. My shot was strictly medical, offered by the doctor and didn’t help my homerun total that summer(my HR total=0). A-Rod’s wasn’t medically issued and he hit 47* homeruns.
A-Rod coming out of the closet on the issue is good for the overall...
